WeMindTheGap’s virtual WeDiscover programme team took part in a cycling challenge to raise funds for Smart Works, Greater Manchester.

The challenge is a sponsored event hosted by Smart Works annually, where teams of five individuals collectively cycle 500 miles over a one-week period, gathering donations towards their efforts.

Rachel Clacher CBE joined WeDiscover’s Laura, Sam, Alex and Anna to create the team of five and put their cycling skills to the test. The team cycled individually and were successful in collectively completing 500 miles over the course of 7 days, raising £405 for Smart Works.

Following the event, Smart Works said,

These funds will be vital to our service delivery over the coming year, as we strive to support even more women than we have before, from across all Greater Manchester boroughs, into employment through both our in-person and remote services.

WeMindTheGap’s team are proud to have been part of raising these funds to help Smart Works deliver their services and continue to help unemployed women in need.
