WeMindTheGap is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Addressing the NEET Challenge category at the ERSA Employability Awards 2026, sponsored by Serco.

The award recognises organisations that are making a significant impact in supporting young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) to overcome barriers and move towards positive futures.

Being named a finalist is a fantastic recognition of the work taking place across WeMindTheGap, supporting young people to build confidence, develop skills, access opportunities and take their next steps towards employment, education and greater independence.

The award also highlights the value of collaboration. Every day, we work alongside employers, partners, supporters and communities who share our belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their potential.

We are honoured to be shortlisted alongside an outstanding group of organisations from across the UK:

  • Fresh Start, Cheshire West and Chester Council
  • Surrey Choices’ Non-EHCP Supported Internship Pilot
  • Coventry City Council’s Trailblazer Programme
  • WeMindTheGap
  • Ingeus RISE
  • Seetec and Greenlight Safety & Training’s Construction Ready Programme
  • Career Connect’s specialist Electively Home Educated (EHE) programme

For more than a decade, WeMindTheGap has worked to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity for young people who may face barriers to employment and progression. This recognition reflects the commitment of our team, the support of our partners and employers, and most importantly, the determination and ambition of the young people we work with every day.

Edward Greening – Head of Impact, Digital and Comms said

“We’re delighted to be recognised as a finalist in these national awards. Young people continue to face significant challenges when trying to access education, training and employment opportunities, and we see every day the difference that the right support, encouragement and opportunities can make. This recognition belongs to our team, our partners and the incredible young people who continue to challenge themselves and achieve great things.”

The winners will be announced at the ERSA Employability Awards later this year.

Whatever the outcome, we are proud to stand alongside organisations across the UK that are committed to creating brighter futures and improving opportunities for young people.

Congratulations to all the finalists, and thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission of helping young people realise their potential. 💙
