Welcome to the second edition of WeShare, our monthly insight series where we explore what national conversations about young people mean for the communities we serve across North East Wales and Cheshire. Each month, we look beyond the headlines, connecting the latest research, policy developments and opportunities to the real experiences of young people in Wrexham, Flintshire, and Cheshire West and Chester.

[Sept Article | PDF]

Overview

This month’s edition focuses on theSept Article findings of the latest Youth Voice Census, which highlights growing barriers facing young people entering education, employment and training, particularly around work experience, transport and access to opportunity. Drawing on evidence from our own Big Conversations, we examine how these national trends are being felt locally, why place matters when tackling youth unemployment, and what recent developments such as £1 bus fare schemes could mean for young people across our region. We also look ahead to important discussions around SEND, school engagement and creating clearer pathways into work, education and training. At the heart of the article is a simple message: when we listen to young people and act on what they tell us, we can create more opportunities for them to thrive.
