Despite the hardships and uncertainties of this year – all brought into even sharper focus by the new Omicron variant – some businesses are still making a difference to those less fortunate than themselves. Momentum Wines in Oswestry is one such business.

Last week, Momentum Proprietor Howard Jones presented the Chair and Founder of WeMindTheGap with a cheque for £3,000. In a year when charitable donations have plummeted, every penny counts more than ever.

‘This will allow us to offer more opportunities to our young people’, said Chair and Founder Rachel Clacher ‘Too many young people are feeling isolated and vulnerable as a result of the pandemic. This money will allow us to offer more places to more young people on our life-changing WeDiscover virtual programme – the best Christmas present ever!

Thank you to Momentum for thinking of us despite having so much else to think about, and for choosing us as their Charity Of The Year for 2022.”

Howard Jones said “We know that our donation can make a real difference to the lives of young people locally.  We are looking forward to raising more money for this important charity in 2022 and, in the meantime, are delighted to donate this money to make a difference at this important time of year’.

Momentum is a physical and online retailer and a trade supplier to many hotels, restaurants, and bars. Momentum has been based in the beautiful market town of Oswestry since 2005.

For WeMindTheGap to continue to thrive we need to harness the support of our communities, be loud and proud about our results, and work in partnership with commissioners and corporates with a like minded approach. If you would like to get involved, then please do not hesitate to get in touch hello@wemindthegap.org.uk / 0333 939 8818.
