Logan’s journey with us has been fun and rewarding, and he’s made the most of every opportunity along the way. From his first steps with WeDiscover to where he is now, he’s grown in confidence, built strong relationships, and discovered so much about himself.
We first met Logan at a Jobs Fair in Wrexham. His mum had already mentioned WeMindTheGap to him, so when we saw him there, it felt like the perfect opportunity to connect.
“I wasn’t really engaging with the Job Centre, and I felt really nervous about starting something new,” Logan admits. “But then I met Kim at the fair, and she told me about WeDiscover. At the time, I had no motivation and no real reason to get out of bed in the morning. This programme was a way for me to try something new without the pressure of having to physically go somewhere.”
WeDiscover turned out to be a game-changer for Logan.
“Once I joined, I started to feel a bit more motivated, and my mood just lifted,” he says. “The calls were a great way to get things off my chest, which helped more than I expected. Plus, getting to know people my age and making new friends was brilliant.”
One of the highlights of WeDiscover is the incredible lineup of guest speakers who bring fresh perspectives on a range of topics. For Logan, these talks opened doors to new ideas and experiences.
“I found the guest speakers really interesting. I learned about Gladstone Library in Hawarden, which looks like such an amazing place. I also picked up some great tips from a talk about sleep – things like switching off properly and finding ways to relax. That’s been really helpful.”
As Logan progressed from WeDiscover, he took on various work experiences to explore different paths. He now volunteers weekly at his local community centre and completed a hands-on course at Agri-cation, where he worked with animals, cleaned out cages, and helped with feeding.
“I absolutely loved my time at Agri-cation! My favourites were the Pygmy goats – they went mad for ginger biscuits!”
Reflecting on his journey, Logan has no hesitation in recommending WeDiscover to others.
“I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some focus or trying to build better habits. It really worked for me. It’s given me the confidence to try new things, too. I used to be a drummer, and WeDiscover encouraged me to get back into music and even try open mic nights again. I’m really enjoying it.”
Logan’s story is a reminder that sometimes, all it takes is a small step in the right direction to make a big change. We’re so proud of how far he’s come, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next!
