WeMindTheGap Wins Prestigious National CSJ Award

We’re so excited to announce that WeMindTheGap has won a prestigious national CSJ Award!

WeMindTheGap (WMTG), a social mobility charity which works across North Wales, Cheshire and the North West of England, has been named a winner at the 2025 Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) Awards. The award recognises WMTG as one of the most outstanding grassroots organisations in the UK.

Each year, the CSJ Awards spotlight small charities making a powerful difference in communities across the country. WMTG impressed judges with its unique and transformative approach, the deep roots from which it was founded in Wrexham, and the way its influence now extends across multiple communities in North Wales, Chester, Manchester and beyond.

WMTG combines work experience, coaching, skills training, meaningful experiences and adventures for the young people it calls its “Gappies.” The charity exists to fill the gaps, providing a trusted and a safe space to thrive and build confidence, and learn the basic life skills every young person deserves.

What makes WMTG truly different is the support, constancy and care at the heart of its programmes. Guided by the belief that “it takes a village to raise a child and a system to mind the gaps,” WMTG builds the power of connections around every young person, bringing together mentors, businesses and caring individuals who open doors and walk alongside them. This long-term, holistic approach helps young people find purpose, structure and belonging for future generations.

Winning a CSJ Award shines a national spotlight on a charity founded in North Wales, powered by its communities, and now recognised across the UK.
