We welcome the findings and insights reported in the ‘Raising the Nation Play Commission’s interim report ‘State of Play’.

As an organisation who work with young people aged 16 – 25 we pride ourselves that all activities and interventions are rooted in play. We see first-hand the benefits to our young people’s mental and physical health, and most importantly, their sense of belonging when they engage with play. But likewise, we see too many barriers and behaviours that are restricting our young people’s ability to play.

We will share the interim report with our supporters, funders and allies and look forward to reading the Government’s final report in June.

Time is running out for a generation of children and young people to find the lifelong love of play, and we urge all those with influence to support the Commission’s solutions to make “play an integral part of growing up again”.
