We were delighted to welcome Nightingale House Chair of Trustees, Chris Burgoyne, to our Flintshire WeGrow Graduation ceremony at Flint Town Hall on the 6th December, to receive a cheque for £210 from a recent fundraising activity.

Gappies on the Flintshire WeGrow programme recently held a Bingo, Quiz and Music evening for family, friends, and supporters, where they raised money through a raffle on the evening. Their collective chosen charity was Nightingale House Hospice.

Chris Burgoyne spoke to our Gappies on the night: “I am delighted to accept this donation on behalf of Nightingale House Hospice.  Every penny you have raised will go directly to the hospice which will make such a difference to the support we can offer people who need it.  You should feel very proud of the effort you have gone to in raising this money and the difference it will make to others’.

We are grateful to Chris for attending our Graduation ceremony and presenting to our Gappies.

Laura Columbine, Community Maker for Flintshire WeMindTheGap, said of the Gappie fundraising, “We were really proud of the Gappie fundraising efforts and their decision to support such a worthy cause. It’s been a real learning experience and being in a position to give back to others has been really rewarding”.
