Dedicated coaching sessions allow Gappies to identify and address barriers to success.
Four placements within different industry sectors, offered by our Employer Partners, allow Gappies to identify for themselves where their ambitions and talents lie.
Sessions to develop improved English and Maths skills - and help Gappies to build their confidence.
Each group of 10 young people is supported by a dedicated Youth Programme Lead and Youth Development officer, who are there to provide support, structure and encouragement throughout the programme.
As leaders in their field, Brathay Trust provides unrivalled, supported challenges and adventures that stretch limits and discover potential.
An educational element of the programme, for Gappies to fill any gaps they may have- whether this is working towards improving their Maths and English, learning about nutrition and how to cook healthy, nutritionally balanced meals, or improving their digital literacy.
A whole range of experiences builds confidence and broadens horizons: from days out exploring the local area to health and nutrition workshops, and even tea with the Mayor.
Important first days comprise a coaching course to answer the questions ‘Who am I? What do I want? How am I going to get it?’
