Leading a holistic programme of work and opportunity for disadvantaged young men
WeMindTheGap is a dynamic, innovative and growing social mobility charity. We provide holistic programmes of paid-employment which include life- skills, coaching, work experience, mentoring and filling gaps in experience, skills and maturation that most of us take for granted.
Building on over a dozen successful programmes for young women, our first programme for young men starts in Manchester this Spring and will support 7 individuals, who haven’t had the best start in life, to move from being ‘prisoners of circumstances to being pilots of their own lives’.
We are looking for a dynamic, caring and passionate people-person to run this exciting initiative. This is a broad, challenging and hugely rewarding role. To succeed, you will need to be able to build authentic, high-trust relationships; work collaboratively as part of a close team and engage a community of stakeholders; bring an open and curious mindset; and be compassionate, patient, organised and resilient.
Most importantly, this role is about walking alongside each participant as a role model, mentor and guide supporting their development of new skills, behaviours and thinking and providing the love and care that is so important in our holistic approach.
The role based in Manchester and is for 30 hours a week. Salary will be c£25,000 pro rata.
If you’d like to help us change lives and do things differently, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send your CV and covering letter to us at firstname.lastname@example.org . Closing Date for applications is 12th February.
