Alpine Fire Engineers continues their partnership with us to continue to helping transform young futures by choosing us as their ‘Charity of the Year’.

North-West based Alpine Fire Engineers have supported our  work in social mobility over recent times by raising funds, raising awareness of the issues that vulnerable young people face and sharing insights into prospective careers. That support will continue in an even more focused way in 2022 as the company has chosen us as its official ‘Charity of The Year’. This means that the Alpine Fire will dedicate even more time and energy to a wider variety of initiatives, all of which will allow us to offer more opportunities to more under-served young people each year.

Social inequality is growing and, now more than ever, our young people need more opportunities and more skills. By providing three different life-changing programmes for under-served young people across the North West and North Wales we address both these issues. Our WeDiscover programme is an online programme for young people aged 16+ who might be feeling isolated and anxious and don’t know what their next steps should be. WeGrow is a 12 month employment programme for young people aged 18+ that provides work experience, confidence, friendship and skills, and WeBelong offers life-long support from the WeMindTheGap family for all graduates.

Steven Nanda, CEO of Alpine said:

“We are thrilled to be announcing our continued partnership with WeMindTheGap as we believe their cause is amazing! Knowing that funds will be used to improve the lives of vulnerable young people is extremely humbling.”

“Providing equal opportunities in the workplace is a high priority for us and we are excited to be able to support this ethos further via our relationship with WeMindTheGap.”

Rachel Clacher CBE, Chair of WeMindTheGap is delighted at this news.

“Every penny raised by the Alpine Fire team over the next year will give new opportunities to a young person on any of our three programmes. As WeMindTheGap addresses 9 of the 17 United Nation’s Social Development Goals the charity is a powerful focus for organisations such as Alpine Fire who wish to support the communities where they work, and we are delighted to be chosen as their ‘Charity of the Year. We can’t wait to introduce the Alpine Fire team to our ‘gappies’ so that they can see for themselves what an impact their support will have.”

The more companies that support us in this way, the more opportunities the we can create for young people in need. Find out how you can nominate us as your Charity of the Year HERE.
