All aboard for a London adventure…

3rd April 2019

In a big finale for both Wrexham and Flintshire trainees as they come to the end of their six month employment with us, ‘Aunties’ and ‘Big Sisters’ for each traineeship put their incomparable planning skills to work and organised train trips to London for both groups.

There was much excitement, many photos and selfies taken and more than a little apprehension about travelling on the Tube. This was soon overcome, as everyone enjoyed the sights of the city and the fun of being in such a bustling environment and exploring together as a group.

The whirlwind overnight stays involved packed itineraries, including a West End musical (Mama Mia and Wicked were the productions chosen by each group!), an inspiring tour and history lesson encompassing the Palace of Westminster, the House of Lords and the House of Commons and a tour of the BBC studios.

Special thanks to friends and supporters who kindly donated towards these activities, and also to MPs Ian Lucas, Susan Elan Jones and Mark Tami, who generously gave their time and delivered exceptional tours of the Houses of Parliament.

This excursion has created memories for a lifetime as our North Wales trainees come to the end of their initial six month traineeship with WeMindTheGap.

Thanks to MP Mark Tami, who generously hosted and gave us the most inspiring tour and history lesson on the Palace of Westminster, the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
